The core objective of the MBA is to create management professionals. Prior work experience aids an MBA student to understand the concepts better and apply them to real-life situations which they might have faced. The answer to the above question is not a plain yes, or a no.
The number of students opting for the MBA has exponentially increased in the past decade. While most colleges in India do accept students with no prior work experience, most universities abroad expect an applicant to have at least 2 years of work experience.
If you don’t have prior work experience, but have other achievements to showcase, and a strong GMAT score and prior academic performance, you still might get into your dream B-School through the early admissions/application route. The MiM/MEM programs are also good bets for new college graduates.
